Hello everyone(like everyone reads this haha)! Today is Jan.31, 2009! We’re on intermission from the xena con and I decided to let my nephew take a nap while I browse online. After minutes of being bored listening to the same song, I decided to blog about the xena con.

This morning I waited for the XOC meetup. They didn’t show, only one attended and I talked to him about Xena for awhile. I figured they were still sleeping because Lucy Lawless’ concert was last night. My friend told me about Lucy Lawless’ concert and OOOOHHH BOOOOYYY did it sound awesome!! Lucy did something…. err… interesting. hehe.

Anyway, 8:30 am and we headed down to register. The vendors were open and I decided to check it out. OHHH MYYY, it was like walking into my dream store LOL. There were Xena merchandise available everywhere and I purchased a whole load. They also had autographs available from the cast of Xena as well from other shows like Smallville, Battlestar G, Buffy the vampire slayer, Twilight, etc. They had posters, cds, pics, shirts, etc.

After 30 minutes in the vendors we headed for the conference room where the interviews were taking place. They showed a short fan film called Lightswitch and then showed a special trailer with clips from the upcoming  movie, BITCH SLAP!! They showed the clip with Lucy and Renee and cheers roared through the room! It was an awesome and funny scene where Lucy and Renee’s characters(the nuns) entered a confession booth where they caught a fellow nun getting it.. umm.. on. LOLZ. Renee’s line were so funny I couldn’t stop laughing! After 10 minutes of clips of Bitch Slap, they had the panel where the directors and some of the cast were on stage. They had the two main girls(don’t remember their names), 3 directors, and Michael Hurst(dressed in character)! Michael was hilarious… he started swearing and he was really in character!  The most incredible part was when Renee surprised us and went on stage! and she was in character!! She came from the back exit door and went on stage wearing her nun costume! It was so funny! I cheered like crazy when she introduced herself as sister Batril. After the interviews were done, they gave away Bitch Slap postcards as well as pins with quotes from the movie. But OMG what a treat to see Renee(Gabrielle) on stage a day before she’s supposed to be here! It was really amazing.

Up next is Hudson Leick(Callisto)!! continue later… *waves*

EDIT: Went back down to the con at around 2 pm(California time) and visited the vendors room again. There was a ROC vendor table and I quickly recognized the man behind the table. He was an actor who was in Renee’s film, Diamonds and Guns. I talked to him for a bit and looked around the table. The ROC vendor table had many of Renee’s artwork and new pics of her. I was going to purchase them all but he said he only took cash. I’m going back there tomorrow and purchase some. For the sake of Renee lol.

Anyway after that I went to the conference room and they were finishing up some music videos. A minute later Hudson Leick showed up on stage. The crowd went wild(I heard Hudson is very funny and liked). I stood in the back while my nephew sat on something. There were Xena lookalikes as well as a Captain Jack Sparrow look alike. Those people were really being the character. =P Anyway back to Hudson…. what I heard was right, she was really funny and every minute was enjoyable. She joked around about her boobs and ummm private part. That was weird. I didn’t expect her to be that open about such stuff haha.  She also talked about her life, yoga, shopping, about her role Callisto, and then answered questions from the audience. My nephew even yelled a question at her at one point and she replied with a funny response. She just knew how to make everyone laugh. She walked around the stage and looked at everyone carefully.She also asked who was new and I raised my hand along with about 10 others. She interacted with the audiences well and I am now an official Hudson fan. I wasn’t really before but seeing her outgoing and fun converted me. =P They did a short auction on her dress and the winning bid was $1000. Woah. She then bid farewell and the audience went wild(including me haha). I went as close as possible to say goodbye. I wish I did photo ops with her. I heard she interacts with you and that would’ve been nice. You don’t find many celebrities who interacts with fans like the Xena cast does. It’s one of the main reasons why I am a huge fan of Xena… the actors/actresses/directors/writers care about the fans and take the time to participate in conventions despite that the show has been off the air for 14 years. That is something. =D

Well tomorrow is the big day!! I’m so excited because Lucy Lawless and Renee O’Connor will be on stage!! =D I’m also doing photo ops with Renee so that is something to look forward to early in the morning =P

Ohh but the food in this hotel is frakkin’ expensive! No lie! Luckily,  yesterday we ate at a Japanese restuarant and the food was delicious… and the service was good too. That was cheaper because we ate at the mall. =P We took probably 4 bus shuttles to go to 2 malls here in L.A.

 My it gets cold here. People ask me “are you cold?” and I would say “yes” and they would smile. They would say “this is cold?” and I would just explain to them how i’m not used to this sort of weather hehe. California is one crowded place. =P The roads were so busy and so much people were walking around. Very different from Maui although the closest thing would be Oahu. Still…… at night when we were close to landing here(1st day we got here)… the scenery was just amazing. I saw so many baseball and football stadiums and I also saw the Staples center(where the L.A. Lakers play). The city was just full of lights and so full of cars. Amazing. =D Well that’s it for the report. I kinda went off topic but ohh well. =D
